Fundamentals of Kayak Navigation, Burch, David. Old Saybrook, Connecticut: The Globe Pequot Press, 1993, 2nd edition [320 pages], $14.95 -- This book is a "must read" for all open water kayakers. It covers all aspects of navigation that relate to kayaking, including chart reading, compass use, dead reckoning, tides and currents, route planning, etc.
